Positioning

  • Your priority in round 1 is to inspire your leader, Fjul-Grimnir, and Tefk Flamebreaker. Make sure to position them within range of an objective. You want both of them to survive until at least round 2, so don't put them in any immediate harm. Your leader goes to a whopping 4 damage once inspired and you'll want him to clean up the board starting round 2

  • Vol and Maegrim are less important and can be placed ahead of Fjul-Grimnir and Tefk. Inspiring them in round 1 is a nice bonus but not needed. Look to inspire them in round 2 if they're still alive and there's a good opportunity

  • Consider long-boarding your opponent if you're up against an extremely aggro warband

Voidcursed Thralls Nemesis Pairing

  • This is a great pairing for the dwarves given the many pushes it provides which help make up for their limited mobility. It also prevents your fighters from being pushed off of objectives making it easier for you to fulfill your inspiration condition. On top of that, all of your fighters have a defensive characteristic of 1 shield and an offensive range of 1, so they aren't negatively impacted by being voidcursed in any way

  • Almost always do you want to start the game with Fjul-Grimnir being voidcursed

  • Utilize cards like Refashioned Priorities, Refashioned Reactions, and/or Forced Movements to navigate the battlefield and close the distance between you, your enemy, and objectives

  • The warband doesn't have a lot of easy surges to score early on in the game. Lashed into Motion, however, is pretty attainable and often a successful first round will just entail you making three move actions

  • Overall, the warband doesn't have a very high glory ceiling and the key to victory will be for you to deny your opponent from scoring their objectives
