Positioning

  • Place Krowch't near the front of the board. Your minions die easily, but you're guaranteed one glory in return from Unsurprising Fate

  • Slynk and Snyp are your most valuable fighters and should be placed where they're protected from enemy attacks, but are able to reach fighters towards the end of the first round

  • You can lock down enemy fighters using Kreep's net counter. Keep this in mind while placing him on the board

Assassinating the enemy leader

  • This warband revolves around assassinating the enemy leader: Their inspiration condition and their objectives reward you for achieving this task

  • If successful, you're almost guaranteed to always score 4 glory thanks to Collateral Damage and Way of the Striking Fang

  • However, you don't always have to kill the leader round 1. It's important to wait for the right time to strike - charging in too early will leave your fighters exposed and lead to quick deaths

  • If your opponent is playing defensively, you'll usually want to wait towards the end of round 1 or even round 2 to charge in to take the leader's head. At that point, both Slynk and Snyp should have some upgrades that will increase their accuracy and damage and make sure you can take out the leader in one fell swoop

  • When it's time to strike, use cards like Misplaced Optimism and Closing for the Kill to reach the enemy leader. Frequently overlooked is the fact that the Facegouger Fangs upgrade can give your fighter the flying trait, granting you easy access to the enemy's backline

  • Often you'll want to attack with Snyp first due to his Smoke Bomb reaction, which allows you to stagger adjacent enemy fighters after his activation, leaving them vulnerable for your leader to come in to finish the job

Hungering Parasite Nemesis Pairing

  • The Hungering Parasite deck is a strong pairing because it provides you with easy to score surges, strong upgrades, and re-rolls against adjacent enemies. Perfect to help you assassinate the enemy leader

  • Place the Bane of Heroes on Krowch't to start the game and place him near the front of the board. You'll be able to get an early charge off, have one re-roll from the stagger, and have the potential to score several surges early like Thwarted Destiny, Driven by the Curse, Temporary Reprieve

  • Make sure to pick a board with a stagger hex. This will help you score Deadly Influence. Since the fighter with the Bane of Heroes upgrade is already staggered, moving through the stagger hex won't negatively impact your fighter

  • After Krowch't, the fighter least impacted by the Bane of Heroes, and the side effect of not being able to inspire, is your leader Slynk
