Positioning

  • Your two most valuable fighters are Skaeth and Karthaen. Position them towards the back of your formation to make sure they're safe and survive until round 2. Don't set up too defensively though because you'll want be able to get a charge off towards the end of round 1 to make sure they inspire

  • Although Lighaen is by far your worst fighter, you generally don't want to place him up front. He's extremely easy to kill and is essentially one free glory to your opponent and a chance for them to start snowballing

  • The warband is very fragile so opting for an off-set board setup when going against an aggro warband is essential

General tips

  • If you're going first in round 1, it's a good idea to use Karthaen's 'Hunting Horn'. It will set you up well for your first Charge

  • Your priority in round 1 is to get 2-3 fighters inpired, including Skeath, and potentially scoring some objectives such as 'Purifying Rites' and 'Safety in Swiftness'

  • Skeath should almost always be one of your last fighters to charge. This is to protect him from being exposed to enemy attacks and guaranteeing his survival until round 2. 'Javelin of the Hunt' is a great tool to get off a charge while still keeping him safe from enemy counter attacks

  • Skaeth's Wild Hunt is best played as a Flex warband. They don't quite excel in any single playstyle but have decent all around stats

  • If you're playing Nemesis format, consider including cards that give your fighters Charge tokens to help you get more fighters inspired

  • Lighaen can't hold objectives because he is a Beast, but he can help you score 'Purifying Rites' by delving an objective

  • If your opponent's warband relies on Shield defenses, consider keeping Sheoch safer than usual prioritize inspiration to access Cleave on his inspired attack

Rimelocked Relics Nemesis Pairing

  • Rimelocked Relics is a great pairing for this warband because it supports their flex playstyle while making up for some of their weaknesses

  • It provides a few more objective-based objectives such as 'Icebound Defenders' and 'Glacial Dominion' that should be reliable for you to score

  • 'Chillblain Armor' can help buff up the defenses of your weaker fighters especially Sheoch

  • 'Gelid Cyclone' and 'Glacial Advance' allow you to give Charge tokens to your fighters out of turn and will help you inspire your warband
